Sanford Stadium Renamed Dooley Field to Honor Vince Dooley

The field that has formally been known as Sanford Stadium has been renamed to Dooley Field earlier this year. Legendary coach Vince Dooley was a great mentor to many during his coaching years at the University of Georgia. Coach Dooley was the University of Georgia’s from 1963-1989 and the director of athletics from 1979-2004 and made a huge impact on the culture of the football program at one of the largest universities in the nation.

During his tenure, he won a national championship in 1980 and six SEC Championships. While working as athletic director, Georgia teams won 23 national championships and 78 SEC team championships. Coach Dooley’s many contributions to the University of Georgia are still seen across the campus

Coach Dooley wrote an autobiography that highlights his 40 years at the University of Georgia. A few years ago, Coach Dooley did a book signing here at Professional Framing Company located in Kennesaw, GA. It was such a privilege to host such an incredible man and receive some of his autographed books as well.

We currently have some of the autographed books that we are giving away with the purchase of a frame. Get yours today by ordering your next frame at professionalframing.com
